I hope David’s right. That seems like the best way to do it, but I can also understand why that is not how it will appear on the big screen, a little too intense (and likely long) for the unititiated. I guess now that the film is finally here, we have to wait for the DVD release.

After watching the HBO Preview Special on Watchmen, I was led to believe that there will be a Director’s Cut DVD released that will have Tales of the Black Freighter interwoven throughout the movie, just like in the comic. I hope that actually gets done.

I understand why it would not be put into the film release in theaters. What i would like to see, is it cut into the film when it is released on dvd. That way it still retains the original vision. The people that care that much about the graphic novel will most likley be buying the dvd.
